From Hooks to Hope began with something simple: a crochet hook, a ball of yarn, and a group of students who loved creating by hand.
What started as a hobby grew into a mission to bring comfort to pediatric hospital patients through handmade plush toys.
For Charlotte, Vivian, and Mika, crochet began as something we did after school in quiet, creative moments.
Over time, it became something more meaningful — a way to create comfort through handmade work.
We revived our school’s crochet club and quickly saw it grow into a space for learning, collaboration, and friendship.
Beginners and experienced members worked together to create something bigger than ourselves.
During our first major drive, we created 33 handmade plush animals and donated them to Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
When a child received a handmade plush fox and immediately lit up, we understood the real impact of what we were creating.
That moment became the foundation of From Hooks to Hope.
We are now expanding into a larger nonprofit, building chapters and partnerships to reach more hospitals and more children.
A hook. Yarn. Time.
Small actions, repeated with care, become something powerful.
From Hooks to Hope is just getting started.
With your help, we can continue expanding our reach and bringing handmade comfort to children in hospitals across the country.
